What is RevolUX?

RevolUX is an Inter University UI/UX Designathon organized by AIESEC in University of Colombo together with IEEE Student Branch of University of Colombo School of Computing.

We are proud to bring this event for the second time in a row with the goal of providing undergraduates with hands on experience in User Interface and User Experience designing.

This event would open doors to get exposed to design-related fields that helps to enhance the skills of undergraduates and make themselves ready to step to the world of work with confidence.

Guidelines

All the participants must be undergraduates studying at any university.

One team should comprise of a minimum of 3 members and a maximum of up to 4 members.

All members of the team should be from the same university.

The Initial round selections would be based on the presentation of a solid UI solution by mock-ups and prototypes.

The Final round will be happening physically as a 24 hour Designathon where the final 10 teams will be competing.

Awareness Session

This session will be held via zoom to give insights on what UI/UX designing is and on how to use design thinking process in projects.
June 12, 2022

Opening of Registrations

Registrations to the Designathon will be opened via a Google form. Form a team of 3-4 members including a team leader and get registered.
June 21, 2022

Closing of Registrations

The registrations to the Designathon will be officially closed.
June 26, 2022

Workshop 1

The first workshop will be held physically at University premises to introduce what journey maps and user persona are. UI/UX paper prototyping will also be taught by the speaker on this day.

Workshop 2

This will be held via zoom with the aim of introducing what Low Level Design (LLD) and High Level Designs (HDD) are.
July 5, 2022

Initial Design Submission Opening

As per initial round submissions, it is expected to submit a solid UI solution by using mockups and prototypes.

Initial Design Submission Closing

Accepting of initial round submissions will be closed.
July 17, 2022

Announcement of Finalists

The best ten teams will be announced based on the prototypes submitted.

Workshop 3

This will also be taking place as a virtual zoom session for the finalists, which would provide insights on how to pitch their solutions/designs to the judges as a presentation.

Designathon

This will take place as a 24 hr Designathon at University premises.

Grab the Trophy

The final ten teams will be presenting their solutions to the judges and the top 3 teams will be selected.
